snow, snow go away…

November 19, 2007 | Category: mixed bag, off the top of my head

come back on a weekend day (sorry, had to paraphrase the nursery rhyme for a minute there)

I love snow… but not on a Monday morning when I have to go to work. The drive to work usually takes me a little over an hour, but this morning with white flakey precipitation and some of the roads less than clear, it took almost two and a half hours.

At one point, the traffic was so bad on this stretch of road

that I was barely moving, so I pulled out a pad and pen and started a Zentangle® -inspired doodle. (if you haven’t read Susan Lomuto’s PC Notes post on Zentangles, take a second to follow one of my links & find out a bit more about what they are…)
It really helped pass the time – I looked up after placing the last line to see that an hour had passed (ok, and I’d gone maybe 5 miles).

Here’s what I came up with in a little less than an hour this morning. I can see myself doing a LOT more of these things. =)

um…aren’t you supposed to keep both eyes on the road when driving?

thats a great zentangle! I had planned on doing a few of those while out of clay action but my healing seems to want me to sleep. Maybe I will zen today. safe driving coming home gf!

lol! When the car is barely moving (seriously – if I was going 2 miles an hour, it was a miracle), keeping a corner of an eye on the road seems acceptable.
The tangle itself was fun. Imagine how much more detailed it could have been had I been sitting at a proper table!
    Heal quickly.

I can’t wait to see more zens from you. I think thats what I will do today since if I go into the clay room I will want to do more than I should.

I guess a corner of the eye was ok at that speed :D Hope the drive home is a bit faster for you!

I can’t wait to do more zens – they’re really quite fun. Actually, there are some refinements I’d like to make to the one I’ve got done – something about bumpy roads & shaky hands, yanno?

How dare the road bump when you are zenning. sheesh, has it no respect for an artiste?

lol! Tell that to the people who pave (or don’t pave) the roads in my backwoods county.
Then again, I’m in the same boat as Rodney Dangerfield, anyhow – I get no respect, artiste or not. =)

You n me both *g*. I live in the “city” and our roads are crap…even the big ones. sheesh.

I got to clay today!!!! the bulky soft cast dressing thing came off and I made three skinner blends! (getting ready for an eye pod pen holder order I got) it felt so good to fondle the clay! Course a less bulky dressing went on and the splint when I wasn’t claying but hey! tis a step forward if ya ask me :D
